Welcome to the first comprehensive job placement network dedicated to the art of teaching World Languages.

Our world is becoming a small village.  Young people are searching for new ways and solutions to improve the world around them.  Learning a new language and understanding different cultures is vital to achieving goals.  Learning World Languages opens new doors for students to reach their community, connect with people of different cultures, discover various practices, as well as understand, accept and celebrate the diversity of people from different backgrounds.

Independent schools have long cherished World Languages, expanding their class offerings, investing in their learners' future, and broadening their horizons.

Educators' Role

Educators are keener to understand our current students; they are looking for new pedagogies to meet the needs of our students.  For example, in my class, students made projects using Arabic calligraphy, enjoyed preparing Arabic food recipes, and shared the joy of their new learning with their families. Students visited local Arabic stores and restaurants to practice their language, taste fresh food, and connect with people from different backgrounds. Some even took trips to Arabic countries and were amazed at the beautiful reaction of Arabic-speaking people hearing a foreigner speaking their mother tongue. This reminds us of the famous saying:

"If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head. If you talk to him in his language, that goes to his heart".
Nelson Mandela

Learners nowadays want hands-on learning; they are eager to take charge of their education. They want to be challenged and given a chance to use their critical thinking skills and enjoy collaborating with friends, using analytical skills, and finding solutions on their own.
As an Arabic Language teacher with over 20 years in independent schools, I have enjoyed seeing my students explore a new language's uniqueness, develop a unique perspective of the Arabic culture, and celebrate the differences.

Our schools need teachers like you.
  • Do you want to strengthen students' passion and individuality by learning a new language and bringing the community together through shared cultural experiences?
  • Do you want to invest in the leaders of the future, help them have visionary thinking, understand and celebrate diversity,
  • Do you want to help students practice life skills by giving them a chance to have hands-on learning and allow them to collaborate more effectively?
  • Are you looking to make a difference? Are you excited to teach a new language to your students?

Our Experienced Placement Team Can Help.
  • Do you feel thrown in a box with all other World Language teachers by placement agencies without in-depth knowledge of your field?
  • Do you bring significant teaching and professional experience to the table?
  • Are you interested in working as a department chair and feel that opportunities for leadership in your current role are few and far between?
If you are looking to begin a new teaching career in an independent school or if you are an experienced teacher and interested in a unique opportunity, schedule a brief meeting with me! I have worked in the world's leading independent schools for over two decades as a teacher and a previous program supervisor across multiple disciplines.

Sincerely,
Thana Jarjour
